The School of Health Sciences at the University of Lethbridge strives to prepare excellent baccalaureate Nursing graduates and post-diploma Nursing graduates, by fostering the development of innovative clinical decision making, diagnostic reasoning, interpersonal skills, leadership behaviours, and technical knowledge and skills. The graduate bases practice in sound knowledge from the humanities, biological, social and psychological and nursing sciences, including knowledge of the particular health challenges with elderly, rural, and aboriginal populations.

Language is the common base on which all knowledge is conceptualized, organized, and expressed. Literature is the primary means through which we transmit human values, ideals, and visions. As part of this program, students have the option to complete courses in American Literature, Canadian Literature, Contemporary British and Irish Drama, Creative Writing, Literary Theory, Old and Middle English, Renaissance Non-Dramatic Literature, Rhetoric, Restoration and Eighteenth-Century Literature, Romanticism, Shakespeare, and Victorian Literature.

Carole is an exchange student from Luxembourg. She speaks Luxembourgish, French, German and English. José is from Argentina. He speaks Spanish, English and Italian. Yoshimi is from Japan. In the Department of Modern Languages, we believe that languages are for everyone; and that in an increasingly global culture they are the key not only to getting around the world, but also to preserving and appreciating the diversity of national cultures.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge offers a B.Sc. Major in Chemistry which is accredited by the Canadian Society for Chemistry. Students in this program study a broad range of subject material including the reactions and interactions of elements and compounds. As part of this program courses are offered in organic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and biochemistry.
